Chapter Eighteen
Samuel
God damn it! I need to go to the bathroom, and I can't even get myself up off the couch without grunting and groaning like an old man! I finally get my body to do as it's told, yet all I've managed to do is sit up, and possibly wake Ashley up.
There's no sounds coming from the bedroom, so I'm hoping she managed to sleep through my old man noises.
Planting my hands on my knees, I get ready to push myself up to my feet, when I hear her still sleepy voice, and realise that I did in fact wake her.
âWhat the hell do you think you're doing?â Ash asks, and I make the mistake of my life by looking up at her. She's standing there, hands on hips, and full of attitude, looking sexy as fuck in some skimpy shorts, and an old worn t-shirt. Is that one of my old t-shirts? âSamuel.â
âI need to go to the bathroom, Ashley. Is that OK with you?â Iâm grumpy without needing to be, except that I'm in pain, and trying to resist touching every square inch of her body.
With my tongue.
âOh, yeah of course, but you should have called out. I can help you, you know?â She says, her hands dropping off her hips to hang by her side.
âWhat are you gonna help with, Ash? Hmmm? You can't help me walk there, I'm too big to lean on you.â And, because I'm an A grade jerk, I push her buttons. I force a grin and say, âI guess you could always hold my dick for me if you want?â
âYou're disgusting.â Yeah, I know, but after that kiss earlier, I can't help it. I need to push her away, I let my guard down, but it can't happen again. âFine, get yourself there, and back again. See if I care.â She stomps back to my bedroom, and the sick bastard In me wishes she was always in my bed.
Slowly I make my way to the bathroom, and even slower, I get out of my turnout pants, dropping them to the floor, grateful that Ash took my boots off at some point.
I do what I need to do, and walk into my bedroom. Ash has buried herself under my covers, her back to me, and the doorway.
I sit on the edge of the bed, peel off my socks, quickly followed by my t-shirt.
âWh-what are you doing, Samuel?â She lifts her head off the pillow, but doesnât turn to look at me.
âItâs early, or late, who the fuck knows, and I'm tired. Exhausted in fact, Ashley. So, I'm getting into my bed to sleep.â I groan as I lie down, pulling the covers over me.
âOf course! You should be sleeping in the comfort of your own bed, you're injured. Iâll go sleep on the couch.â I swear that entire sentence was one word, she said it that fast!
I feel her move, but I growl one word out. âNo!â
And she freezes where she is.
âWhat-?â
âAsh, I donât have it in me to argue with you.
